Fall Family Portrait Tips
I love when the seasons change, but I especially love fall. The cooler temperatures, the leaves changing colors, and the fall scents put an extra pep in my step. Capturing this seasons’ beauty is something I look forward to doing every year in my fall family portraits. It is not too late for you to start preparing for your own fall portraits. If you do not know where to begin we have compiled a few tips to help you out!
1. Complimentary Colors
Three is always a good number to stick to when picking out colors for your outfits. Try to pick out three complimentary fall colors for everyone to wear. Remember not everyone needs to wear solids. Some members of the family can wear solid colors while others have a pattern or even a texture such as lace or suede. Maybe even throw in a fun hat, scarf, or jacket!
2. Avoid Black and White Clothing unless you are layering with a fall color on top. Below is a general list of great fall colors to wear:
* Dark/Mustard Yellows
* Dark/Burnt Orange
* Dark Shades of Green
* Dark Purple/ Plum/ Maroon
* Navy Blue/ Teal
3. Happy Kids = Happy Family = Happy Faces
Make sure the kids have been fed and are well reseted for their pictures. Do not schedule photos in the middle of nap time. Plan ahead and bring snacks and water to avoid any potential meltdowns.
